The Missing Skills That Actually Deepen Intimacy

Most of us were never taught how to:

• Stay present when pleasure intensifies
• Navigate contraction without pushing through it
• Build arousal for hours instead of minutes
• Use touch that actually creates safety
• Let intimacy become transformative, not just satisfying

Not because we lack desire. Because we lack capacity.
And capacity can evolve.

For some, intimacy has become confusing, strained, or disappointing — sex feels rushed, disconnected, or brings up old wounds you don’t know how to navigate.

For others, intimacy works but feels limited — pleasure peaks quickly and something essential seems just out of reach.

And for some, intimacy is already deep and nourishing — and you’re ready to explore it as a transcendent, consciousness-expanding practice.

Some call for healing.
Some call for deepening.
Some call for initiation into the sacred.

Divine Union for Lovers meets you wherever you are.

Most people learned about sex from:

  • Pornography — which teaches performance without presence
  • Biology-focused sex education — which teaches mechanics without intimacy
  • Trial and error — which reinforces old patterns rather than creating new ones

Even many “conscious sexuality” spaces miss essential pieces:

  • Tantra workshops that offer expansion without nervous-system safety
  • Sex therapy that addresses psychology but ignores somatic practice
  • Spiritual approaches that bypass trauma instead of working with it

When safety is missing, the body can’t linger. And without lingering, intimacy never deepens.

The issue isn’t desire. It’s capacity.

You haven’t failed at intimacy. You’ve been trying to build a cathedral with only a hammer.

Think of a moment when time disappeared — a ceremony, music, prayer, deep stillness.

Your breath softened. Your body opened. You weren’t trying — you were there.
That state is available through conscious lovemaking.

When pleasure is approached as medicine,
when safety comes before intensity,
the nervous system finally lets go.

This is the ground of Divine Union.

“My partner and I had a very deep, intimate relationship prior to this, but this gave us so much more to play with.”

The 3 Hidden Reasons Most Couples Never Experience Extended Lovemaking

Foundation #1: Nervous System Safety

Sexual experiences are being controlled by nervous system states.

When you’re stressed, anxious, or in fight/flight/freeze mode—or if past experiences taught your body that intimacy isn’t safe—your body is literally incapable of deep pleasure or sustained erotic states. You might get aroused, you might even climax, but you can’t access the transcendent, healing states that extended lovemaking offers.

Once you learn to recognize when your body is in “survival mode” versus “safe and open mode”—and how to shift between them—everything changes. Suddenly you can stay present with pleasure for hours instead of minutes.

This is why nervous system work isn’t optional. It’s the foundation everything else is built on.

Foundation #2: The Art of Receiving

Before you can experience divine union together, you need to master receiving pleasure without the pressure to perform or reciprocate.

In our course, you’ll learn “one-way touch” practices where one partner receives while the other gives—with absolutely no expectation of switching or “paying back.” But unlike passive receiving, you’ll learn to actively attune to what your body truly wants, moment by moment, and voice it. The receiver guides. The giver serves the body’s wisdom.

When you can fully surrender into receiving, while also practicing the vulnerability of asking for exactly what you want, you develop the attunement necessary for truly transcendent sex.
Without this foundation, you’re always performing. With it, you ( can finally arrive.) experience satiation?

Foundation #3: Beyond Orgasm (Climax) As Destination

In extended lovemaking, orgasm (climax) is just one experience along the way—and often not the most profound one.

When you learn to “edge”, to circulate sexual energy through your body, to use pleasure states for healing—you discover that the journey itself is more transformative than any single peak.

This is where ancient Taoist and Tantric practices become practical: they give you specific techniques to expand, hold, and direct sexual energy for healing and consciousness expansion.

“I have really expanded my understanding of sexuality, intimacy, and lovemaking. Before the course, I thought it was just about penetration and orgasm. Now I can see how it’s about connection, intimacy, trust and safety, energy, pleasure as well as growth as individuals and couples. I am so much less afraid than when I first started the course.”

I felt deeply held in their presence from start to finish that energetically opened me in ways that no other ceremony ever had before. What Makes This Different

Most approaches do one or the other—trauma therapy that treats sexuality as a problem, or tantric practices that bypass unresolved wounds. Divine Union integrates both: trauma-informed touch practices WHILE accessing expanded states through pleasure.

Every practice is designed with nervous system science in mind. We don’t just teach you what to do—we teach you why it works, so you can adapt practices to your unique system instead of forcing techniques that don’t land.

You’ll see real video demonstrations—not just explanations. Vulva/vagina/penis mapping, edging practices, non-penetrative lovemaking, navigating triggered states, one-way touch. These aren’t performed for camera. These are real practices with the same care we bring to private sessions.

This isn’t “just Tantra.” It’s a synthesis of multiple lineages: Somatic Sex Education, Sexological Bodywork, Neuroaffective Touch, Taoist practices, Tantric principles, The Wheel of Consent, (Chi Nei Tsang & Karsai Nei Tsang,) and ceremonial container-holding.

For ALL bodies, orientations, and relationship structures. Whether you’re LGBTQ+, ethically non-monogamous, or in any partnership configuration—these practices work.

“Divine Union for Lovers was a very meaningful experience for me. As someone healing from childhood sexual trauma, I joined the course alone and felt apprehensive at first. Ariel and Rahi fostered a space that felt safe and supportive through their gentle, respectful, and knowledgeable approach. The course expanded my understanding of sexuality, intimacy, and lovemaking, and it gave me practical tools to support my healing. I’m so grateful for this experience.”

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve explored tantra already, what’s different about this course?
This course is a unique interweaving of wisdom and disciplines from many influences beyond tantra, such as trauma-informed touch, containers that understand the role the nervous system plays in sexual arousal, taoist practices for extended love-making, one-way touch and whole body/genital mapping from somatic sex education, and our own unique experiences for cultivating an environment for erotic alchemy to transform consciousness. We’ve curated the best of the best and are sharing from a place of lived practice and devotional service.
Can individuals take this or do I have to be in a couple?
Divine Union is designed to enrich and expand both individuals and lovers. There will be different benefits taking it individually or with a partner, as the exercises and practices we share involve working with a partner – either one’s beloved or a practice partner/trusted friend. Taking the course as an individual would be a rich experience in preparation for Divine Union, and the material could then be returned to with a lover for a new experience.
Is this course appropriate for practitioners?
This course is designed for both couples and professionals alike. For professionals, whether fellow somatic sex educators, couples therapists, or MFTs, the wide array of intimacy and extended love-making practices would provide an entirely new toolbox with which to serve your clients. Additionally, the trauma-informed approaches would benefit a wide range of clients at different stages of embodiment.
Is this LGBQT friendly?
Divine Union speaks to the spiritual, energetic, sexual, emotional, mental and cosmic connection available to ALL beings, and we have endeavored to create a course that is mindful of all bodies, sexual orientations and identities. In module 4, we share practices from our own experiences as a vulva- and penis-owner – as a jumping off point for you to discover what works for your body and genital configurations. When we speak about vaginal penetration, we are referring to penetration with a penis or finger/s. We also recognize that for a great majority of queer folx – non-penetrative lovemaking is not a novel idea or practice. However, we believe that all lovers can benefit from learning how to slow down to discover what else is possible, beyond what you’ve already experienced. To deepen skills in self-attunement, as well as benefit from knowledge on the nervous system’s correlations to sexual patterns and responsiveness, one-way touch practices, and using sexual energy to heal past wounds and expand consciousness.
Is this course for non-monogamous couples or erotic friends?
Yes. This course is specifically called Divine Union “for Lovers” because lovers can come in all kinds of relational configurations. And whether you have one lover or many lovers, there is always something sacred to hold between the unique union of any set of lovers coming together.
Is there a live retreat for my lover and I to explore these practices in-person with your guidance?
Yes.  Divine Union For Lovers Live is being held in Santa Monica, CA between August 1-3 and again from September 19-21.  All details and application can be found here: tba
This sounds profound, but what if my partner isn't as interested as I am?
Usually, one person initiates and the other is hesitant. That’s normal. The way through isn’t to pressure them or wait for their permission. It’s to start the journey yourself. Divine Union works for individuals preparing for partnership just as powerfully as it works for established couples. Whether your partner eventually joins you or not, these skills become part of who you are—how you relate to your body, how you navigate intimacy, how you show up in connection. Some partners do become curious when they see the changes. Some don’t. Either way, you’ll have gained capacities that serve you for life. If you’re ready, begin. Your growth doesn’t require their enrollment.
